Understanding your cognitive biases in decision making

In the spirit of being introspective, we have all made decisions – good and bad – based on our own biases.  These biases can come from our cultural backgrounds, professional and personal experiences, as well as our education.  Clearly, no one is without them but understanding that they exist is very helpful in ensuring that we take them into consideration when making important decisions.
