Overcome imposter syndrome, value diverse thought.
This recent blog post by Andy Molinsky is really interesting on many levels. First, I think it will resonate with those of you who have at various times in your careers fallen victim to the “imposter syndrome.” The tips to combat this are both thoughtful and instructive.
One of the hidden gems in this piece, however, is the notion that outsiders can create significant value for a company. Diversity of thought and experience is often severely under-valued by companies – especially technology companies. So as you read this, consider how you can encourage your teams to solicit input from employees, partners and customers who may have different perspectives to share.
