David D. King
Managing Director, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer
David D. King is a Managing Director, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Accel-KKR.
Prior to joining Accel-KKR, David was an equity partner at Kirkland & Ellis, where he focused on private fund formation, strategic GP advisory work and regulatory matters for private fund managers across a range of investment strategies. During his nearly decade-long tenure at Kirkland, David was responsible for helping grow the firm’s West Coast investment funds practice.
Prior to Kirkland, David served as a Principal in the General Counsel’s office of The Carlyle Group, based in Washington, D.C. At Carlyle, David oversaw legal matters for the firm’s Global Real Assets division, which included its real estate, energy, infrastructure and power investment strategies globally. Earlier in his career, David was with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, where he focused on investment funds, mergers and acquisitions, and securities matters across the firm’s New York, Los Angeles and Palo Alto offices. David also has experience working at Millennium Partners, a New York-based hedge fund.
David received his J.D. from New York University School of Law and an Advanced Certificate in Law and Business from New York University Stern School of Business. He received his B.A. in Economics, with a minor in Accounting, from the University of California, Los Angeles. David is a member of the State Bar of California and the State Bar of New York.
